My dad was 67 years old when he died. He was way too young. But he had issues: gout, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes. He had a stroke 8 years before his death, was 60 pounds overweight for the last 20 years of his life, and had not exercised since he was in boot camp in the Army 45 years before.

My daughter was 5 years old at the time.

What this means is that he was deprived of watching his first granddaughter grow up, and she never knew him.

If this isn’t a reason for paying attention to our aging process, I don’t know what is.

Paying attention is Aging Intelligently.
