ACTION STEP: Shoulders
Start Aging Intelligently today, one step at a time.
Just before you eat:
Stand as tall as you can, reaching both arms straight up to the ceiling and as close to your head as you can get your arms. Start at the very top and roll your hands down toward your shoulders and hips, staying close to your body, until your arms are straight. Roll them back up as high and as close to your head as you can. Fingertips lead down, and fingertips lead back up.
Repeat at a comfortable pace 20 times.
This increases flexibility of your shoulders, plus works the shoulder and back muscles. Standing up is just the bonus. It takes more energy to stand than to sit.
Only then, eat.
This adds a habit you already do (eating) to a habit that you want to form (upper body strength and strong shoulders).
Aging Intelligently is a process and a practice.
