How Gratitude Affects Aging
When I arrived at the bakery yesterday morning, I was informed that they had not made any 8” pumpkin pies for the holidays. Instead, for the same price, I would receive a 10” pie. I was appreciative, and grateful. Life is good.
Gratitude doesn’t cost anything, and you can start anytime. People who practice gratitude live longer than people who don’t. They are happier, experience less pain, and every organ and cell functions better in their body. For the grateful, the glass is half full, not half empty. How you see the world is a choice you make every day. It directly affects how you age. People who practice gratitude don’t carry as much stress, they move easier, they sleep better and longer, their faces don’t sag from frowning, their eyebrows don’t furrow from anger, their digestion improves, and they are nicer people.
For small things, and big, we can practice gratitude. I’m grateful for a bigger pie.
That’s Aging Intelligently.
