ACTION STEP: Vision and Balance
Start Aging Intelligently today, one step at a time. Your eyes need to move to the outer edges of the eye sockets, to help peripheral vision and balance.
Just before you eat,
if you have an iPhone, set the Clock to Stopwatch. Otherwise, find a running second hand on a clock or a watch. Without moving your head (just your eyes), let the time run and blink as many times as you can for 10 seconds. Move the clock towards the ceiling so you can see it without moving your head. Only your eyes move up. Stare at it for 10 seconds. Blink quickly for 10 seconds, watching the clock. Move the clock towards the floor so you can see it without moving your head. Stare 10 seconds, blink quickly for 10 seconds. Move the clock all the way to the right (don’t move your head), stare for 10 seconds, blink for 10 seconds. Move the clock all the way to the left (don’t move your head), stare for 10 seconds, blink for 10 seconds.
Done in under 2 minutes. This improves vision outside of staring straight ahead at a computer, and that helps balance, which leads to not falling, which enhances aging well.
Only then, eat.
This adds a habit you already do (eating) to a habit that you want to form (vision and balance).
Aging Intelligently is a process and a practice.
