Action Step: Wrist & Finger Strength
We are Aging Intelligently, one step at a time. Wrists are important for picking up things, unscrewing jar tops, and building strength and mobility against carpal tunnel syndrome. We need strong wrists.
Before you eat,
In front of your chest, press your palms together, fingers to fingers and palm heels to palm heels. It’s the prayer position for your hands. Press your fingertips from side to side. Then make a figure eight with the fingertips. Circle one way, then the other. Finally, press the fingertips and thumbs together for 10 seconds, release and press the palm heels together for 10 seconds, then press fingertips, thumbs and heels together for 10 seconds.
Only then, eat.
This adds a habit you already do (eating) to a habit that you want to form (wrist mobility and strength).
That’s Aging Intelligently
