Life Is A Process
All of us have a right to age intelligently, without restraints or judgement. It isn’t just for the wealthy, the gene-strong, the lucky, and the few deserving. It is everyone’s right to age well.
The results of Aging Intelligently come from the process of doing the work day in and day out. By moving your body every day in every range and direction, you produce great results. You have freedom from any restrictions of movement. If you can move, you will move. It is effortless and nothing you have to consider to go about your life each day. Hop over a fence? Sure. Climb stairs? You bet. Play on the floor with the neighbor’s kids? Of course.
It is when you cannot move, due to injury or illness that you stop moving. Once that happens, the process of beginning to move again becomes difficult. Ever break a leg and have it stuck in a cast for six weeks? It doesn’t function very well when the cast is removed. You have to retrain it. It’s work. It isn’t pleasant. Much better to stay strong and, in case you fall, have a muscle cushion so no bones break. It is injury prevention.
The process of Aging Intelligently never ends. You don’t arrive anywhere. There are no days off. The results are reflected in living. Every day, choose to believe in the possibility of aging well, move your body, and be grateful that you woke up this morning. Some people didn’t. Smile at a stranger; it increases your feel good hormones. Use your brain to learn something new, something novel. Your brain loves novelty. Practice balance; you will get better. It’s the process, not the result. Before you know it, you are standing on one foot with your eyes closed and not falling over. You have great results when you trust the process.
That’s Aging Intelligently
