What Thoughts Run Your Life?
In a study done in1996, it was established that using “old” words slows your gait. These include the words: Florida, grey, bingo, and wrinkle. Who cares? And why does this matter?
You should care because your brain listens to everything to say. When you complain that you’re old, have bad knees and no energy, your brain is listening. And making it true.
When you think a negative thought, voice it out loud, share it with someone and they commiserate with you……….you both feel bad. It may still be 7am, and it is going to be a long day.
Mobility will be an issue, balance will be off, stress goes up, posture compresses, nothing tastes right, pain increases, and thinking clarity diminishes.
You have to think anyway; think thoughts that are more pleasant than how miserable you think you are. Thinking healthy, good thoughts is a discipline, like everything else. You get good at what you continually practice. Be grateful for what you have, whatever and however small it is. Do something for someone else. Challenge your creativity and do something new. Ok, find your creativity. It’s there, waiting for you to discover it.
Life is a gift, not a burden. That’s Aging Intelligently.
