Why Choice Matters
Do nothing, do something, and/or do something else. Life is a long, endless series of choices. It never stops until you stop breathing. Doing nothing is a decision. Make a better decision. Taking action, you start a process of curiosity, mobility, and possibilities. One action leads to another. You are still in “active” mode. Never starting an action, nothing happens. There is no taking a second or sixth action. You are safe, but boring. Passive. Possibly uninteresting. Muscles atrophy, posture compresses, brain function slows. No risk, no reward, no reason to excel at living. Survival is not a great plan, nor a great choice, unless you are stuck on a small boat with a tiger.
Don’t just survive in your life; thrive in it. Take action. Do something. That leads to something else, which eventually leads to smart choices and an openness to opportunity. Make a lot of choices to make a few good choices. Luck favors people who are not afraid to change.
That’s Aging Intelligently.
