I am not aging intelligently. I know what I should do, but alas I don’t. You are my motivation. Thank you.

Think about what happens if you do not age intelligently: wheelchairs, nursing homes, living in your kid’s upstairs unheated bedroom with the bathroom downstairs. It’s a choice you make every day. Excusing yourself for a bad choice is still a bad choice. Don’t make it a project, just move every day: walk more, take the stairs instead of the elevator, stand to yak on the phone. It doesn’t take much to change a habit if you don’t burden yourself with what you “should” do.

  2. I love the idea of comfy clothes and conquer the backyard, at least. I like your joyful attitude!

  3. I conquered the shopping mall today. Does that, Dempsey count for anything? I walked all the way!

    • dempsey says:

Judy, walking to the Mall, plus shopping, absolutely counts for “move your body”. And, the more you move, the more you will want to because the more you can.

I’m planning to conquer the children’s playground today! I have a 4 year old son who have tons of energy 🙂

Try to capture some of his energy for yourself. Oh, the things we can do and the places we can go…

  5. Just moved quite a lot actually! I’m coming from the evening walk. I usually walk 2-3 km 2 times a day but I was a bit lazy the last couple weeks and only walked once. Well not today, today we are back in business, baby 🙂 Thanks for the great encouragement, Dempsey!

You are healthily welcome. See how easy it is to move? Don’t think about it, don’t beat yourself up, don’t make excuses; just move every which way you can as often as you can. We were made to move…

  6. Great article. I will be going through some of these
    issues as well..
